Tech Titans, the largest technology trade organization in Texas, recognized outstanding technology companies and individuals in the North Texas area who have made significant contributions to their industries at its annual awards gala at the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West on Friday, Aug. 24. We are proud to announce that Bill Warren, Reflect’s Executive Chairman, took home the Community Hero Award. This award recognizes an individual within the technology industry for their outstanding achievements in community involvement.

Bill Warren of ReflectMany know Bill Warren as an executive with Reflect, a Dallas-based digital media and advertising company that designs, builds and manages digital signage networks for some of the world’s best known brands. Warren first joined Reflect’s Board of Directors in 2001 and took over as CEO in 2010. He stepped into the Executive Chairman role last year. What many people don’t know, is that for the last three and a half decades, he’s been a vital part of a Richardson nonprofit that serves disabled children.

Bill is a lifetime advocate for children with special needs. Thirty-three years ago, he had a son who was born disabled. Looking for resources, he got involved with what was then called the Richardson Development Center. He led the capital campaign to build a new headquarters in Richardson where 900 children are served each month. The new facility was aptly named The Warren Center. He and his wife, Beverly, were also pivotal in launching the Fantasy Football Draft Night event which has raised millions of dollars for The Warren Center over 25 years.

The Warren Center provides many different services to help accelerate development in young children with special needs, including:

  • Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) for children from birth to age three
  • Clinic Therapy Services including evaluation, individual and group therapy
  • Family Education & Support in the form of workshops, support meetings, and resource referrals
  • Recess Drop-Off Care at all three locations

"In our situation, when we were blessed with John, a disabled kid, we had so many friends and people, who we didn't know, who gathered and helped us in the first three or four years of development," Bill explains. "They helped us, so now it's my turn to help others. My niece had a child who wasn't speaking at the right age, and she found The Warren Center, having had no idea it was connected to her uncle. You really have no idea who you're reaching. I think it’s good to provide quiet services where people don’t know it’s you,” Bill says. “We want to be as humble as we can be.”

Reflect’s installation of two FLEXClear transparent LED video displays at Levi’s Market Street receives 2019 SPECTRUM Award

DALLAS, TX – March 5, 2019 - Reflect, a Dallas-based provider of retail digital signage programs and longtime digital partner to Levi Strauss & Co., today announced that they have been recognized by design:retail Magazine for “Best Retail Technology” in the inaugural SPECTRUM Awards. A panel of independent judges tasked with acknowledging the year’s most innovative retail design projects and technology solutions chose winners.

The award-winning installation at Levi’s flagship store boasts two FLEXClear transparent LED window displays by Nashville-based LED video manufacturer PixelFLEX™ . The displays, powered by Reflect’s proprietary CMS platform, ReflectView™, are eye-catching and deliver a captivating, brand-right experience for Levi’s.

“As a forerunner in the jean industry, Levi’s really wanted to make a statement and connect with their customers at their flagship location on Market Street in San Francisco,” said Brandie Perkins, Director of Strategic Accounts, Reflect. “Having seen the possibilities of a transparent LED video display, they asked us if we could implement the technology into their new retail design, so we reached out to PixelFLEX about the FLEXClear LED video.”

As a 65-75% transparent LED display, FLEXClear gives designers the ability to offer a truly dynamic experience for consumers. Through its slim, attractive design and its high LED brightness, FLEXClear is perfect for any retail, hotel, shopping mall, or commercial application.

Perkins continued, “They wanted a big experience that would attract consumer attention without impeding the natural light which is essential to the space, so we installed two separate FLEXClear LED video displays, one in each front window. They are mounted to a rod hanging from the ceiling, and we are using our ReflectView CMS to push the content we create to the displays. We are seeing a lot of excitement about the FLEXClear possibilities because it’s a dynamic and impactful display that doesn’t impede light or customer sightlines, all at an affordable price point. We were very pleased with the outcome of this project and are thrilled to be recognized by our industry and design:retail with the Spectrum Award for Best Retail Technology.”

“In new awards program seeking the best-designed projects and products the retail design industry has to offer, we are very excited to have received a design:retail Spectrum Award,” added David Venus, Chief Marketing Officer, PixelFLEX. “As the visual experience behind the ever-evolving retail environment becomes even more prevalent, we are dedicated to continuing to provide designers with the most innovative and reliable product solutions which will only strengthen their connection with consumers.”

Reflect, BrightSign, & D3 Team Up to Deliver Impressive LED Arrays for Levi’s in Times Square

Reflect and Levi's 501 display

Digital media solutions provider Reflect creates striking visual experience for the New York flagship retail location using D3 LED panels and BrightSign media players.

Reflect, an award-winning provider of retail digital signage programs and longtime digital partner to Levi Strauss & Co., today announced that they teamed up with D3 and BrightSign to create a striking visual experience at the recently opened Levi’s flagship store in Times Square. At nearly 17,000 square feet, it is the largest Levi’s flagship store in the world. The multi-level location offers the very best in store design, product assortment and omni-channel capabilities, highlighted by the prominent use of AV treatments that create striking visual interest throughout the store.

Originally established in 1853, Levi Strauss & Co. is one of the world’s largest apparel companies with 500 stores worldwide, and products available in over 100 countries. When tasked with creating a modern environment that was not only welcoming, but also told the story of the brand, Levi’s turned to Reflect. Reflect – which also oversaw the digital design and integration of the San Francisco Levi’s store – leaned heavily on the use of LED panels to create large-scale vignettes in prominent, high-traffic areas. In total, 10-million LED pixels blanket more than 1,000 square feet of prime wall space located on both levels of the store. The full array of LEDs – supplied by D3 LED – are powered by just two BrightSign XT1144 media players. The inclusion of two additional BrightSign XT1144 media players ensures a high degree of redundancy.

“Times Square stores are among the highest-visibility retail establishments in the world. Delivering a brand-right digital experience was our goal,” said Brandie Perkins, Senior Account Manager at Reflect. “We entrusted BrightSign media players to deliver a fail-safe media distribution platform. Not only did we have the benefit of BrightSign’s unrivaled reliability, but we were able to drive content for the entire store with just two players – a true testament to the robust capabilities of BrightSign hardware.”

The store has three massive LED panels in key areas – a 41-foot curved panel on the street level near the store entrance, one panel wrapped around the escalator and an 82-foot-wide U-shaped panel wrapped around the grand hall located downstairs.

“Levi’s flagship store in Times Square is an impressive demonstration of the near-limitless scale, shape and orientation possibilities with our LED displays,” said George Pappas, CEO at D3 LED. “Installations like these showcase how LED displays with eye-catching imagery draw in visitors, create the desired mood and support the brand simultaneously.”

Spence Diamonds storefront

Renews successful relationship, expands depth of partnership

Spence Diamonds, a leading retailer of diamond jewelry, recently expanded their operations, opening three new concept stores. This is on the heels of the extraordinary success Spence and Reflect enjoyed with their initial store openings in the U.S., including a 2017 DIGI Award for Best Digital Signage in Retail. The new stores are awesome, an evolution based on the successes of Spence’s original entry into the U.S. market. With a new brand image, amazing digital displays, and evocative content, Spence continues to surpass shopper expectations in the jewelry category.

Reflect worked closely with Spence’s CMO, Veeral Rathod, to create a captivating, digitally enhanced customer experience within these three new stores. Rathod and Reflect mapped out a digital approach that combined the best of what made the pilot stores such a success with a focus on the new branding.  The team employed consistent branding and messaging across all online and in-store channels, and incorporated bold new colors and edgier model photography to both intrigue and draw in shoppers.

Providing a one-of-a-kind diamond-buying experience, each of the new locations were outfitted with updated, cutting-edge hardware including vibrant displays that line entire walls. The strategy was to use digital as way to build connections with shoppers throughout each step of their journey – bridal walls, concierge stations, and consulting rooms. Further, Reflect collaborated with Spence’s creative agency, GoDo Discovery Co., to create content for the screens that relay Spence’s brand story. The result is an edgier attitude that attracts modern audiences to these spaces, and seamlessly corresponds with Spence’s new digital presence.

“Throughout this brand evolution, I looked for ways to help customers easily grasp our brand story and points of differentiation. Digital signage was always a critical part of the new store design because it’s proven to be effective at building connections with our shoppers. Reflect has been a fantastic partner throughout this journey. From strategy and content to the digital signage technology, they were critical in helping me and the team optimize the in-store experience,” added Veeral Rathod.

At the Digital Signage Expo next week, Mason Page, EVP of Strategy at Reflect, and Veeral, CMO at Spence Diamonds, will be keynote speakers. They’ll educate the digital signage industry on their technological evolution, the strategy behind the rebranding, and the operational benefits of their signage network. CLICK HERE for more information on their session, ‘Creating a Radiant Shopping Experience’. Reflect will be exhibiting at DSE March 27-28 in Booth #1612.

Retailer sees double-digit sales lift after launching Reflect’s interactive shopping application on Elo’s 55-inch commercial grade touchscreen.

DALLAS, TX – April 30, 2019Reflect, a leading provider of award-winning digital signage software, content and interactive applications, and Elo, a leading global supplier of retail technology solutions, today announced that the companies’ retail implementation project with Polaris was named a 2019 DIGI Award winner for Best Digital Signage Application: Retail.

A key aspect of the Polaris Retail Experience Project is a pairing of Reflect’s digital interactive shopping application with Elo’s 55-inch commercial grade touchscreen in Polaris dealerships across the U.S. The experiential touchscreen enables customers to effortlessly build their off-road vehicles, adding accessories as desired, with a 360-degree view to visualize possibilities not seen on the showroom floor.

“Showcasing a wide range of physical products when you have limited space to do so can be challenging for retailers, which is why digital signage is so crucial in cases like Polaris’ dealerships,” said Lee Summers, CEO, Reflect. “The ‘build your own’ application is a powerful sales tool, one we’re happy to have helped create.”

Because of the success of the application, Polaris has plans to roll out this interactive application to additional dealerships in the US and Canada. The interactive technology is the number one dealer-requested sales tool, and after implementation, Polaris has seen double-digit sales lift in vehicles, as well as in parts and accessories.

“From the moment shoppers interact with the showroom installation, they gain a sense for how simple and enjoyable it will be to become a part of the powersports community, which often begins with their first Polaris purchase,” said Leah Holm, Lead – Retail Experience Program, Polaris. “We are excited for our continued work with both Reflect and Elo to bring shoppers’ dreams of adventure to life.”

“Elo’s interactive displays are designed to inspire, and we’re glad to play a part in Polaris’ investment to optimize its presence in dealer showrooms,” said Craig Witsoe, CEO, Elo. “Consumers want best-in-class experiences when they shop – working with Reflect to bring the possibilities to life has been a fun and rewarding project to make that experience a reality for Polaris’s thrill-seeking customers.”

Sales associates can use the tool to walk guests through the creation of their vehicles, closing more transactions as a result. Shoppers can also explore the app in a self-guided way. The app also has the ability for a shopper to save their vehicle specs to return to later while at home.

In addition to the most recent DIGI Award, The Polaris Retail Experience Project also won a 2018 Elevate Award for Best ICX Deployment, Retail.

Transforming Levis Times Square into a Digital Signage Staple with Reflect & D3

0
0
Reflect and MarketScale header

On this episode of the Pro AV Podcast, we decided to step away from conversation around trends in technology and industry culture to instead profile one specific project, which reflects what’s making the best technology and the latest industry shifts so powerful. Final deliverables in Pro AV tend to lean toward bigger and better, and what better captures both than digital signage on Times Square. Every day and every minute in that five-block stretch of New York City is a battle for people’s attention. This was at the forefront of the Levi’s team’s minds as they planned the opening of their largest flagship store in November of 2018.

How did they deliver on some of the most engaging digital signage and user experience on Times Square? To unpack this project, we spoke with the CEOs of the companies who made it possible. We sat down with Lee Summers, Chief Executive Officer of Reflect Systems, and George Pappas, Chief Executive Officer of D3 LED, to get their thoughts on inspiration, details of the project, and what kind of idea-to-design challenges they faced during such a large makeover.

Prov AV image 1

Both Pappas and Summers point to exceptional pre-production and vision being what led this Levi’s project to success. To turn their store into something dynamic that reflected their product offering, branding image, and stayed fresh for customers, D3 and Reflect had to leverage cutting edge technologies to get to the “why” of the project instead of getting lost in visuals for visual’s sake.

Prov AV image 2

More than anything though, this project is a perfect representation of a collaborative future for the industry. AV companies often lean into their competitive tendencies, and understandably so, wanting to be first to market or have their name attached to the next big project. But for D3 LED and Reflect Systems, collaboration was the key to success, playing off of each other’s strengths to bring Levis’ competitive installation in the heart of New York to life.

“Whenever I saw New Year’s Eve, and the countdown, and you saw that store right behind the stage, and what an impact that brand is making globally and has for the last hundred plus years, it’s just exciting to be a part of that,” Summers said.
